Milestones

Yesterday was Thanksgiving.

Without Mike and our family (my birds are all still being held hostage for extortion purposes), the day began with tears…in a cold trailer, as propane had run out the day prior. Space heaters were running to keep ice out of the air (I will admit to embellishing a bit – I am almost always cold).

A trip to town returned heat to the trailer, then laden with food stuff, I made my way to Erika’s for food, friendship and bird love.

Grief started the day, but by spending time with a good friend, eating good food, and relaxing with Outlander and a couple quirky birds, Gratitude won the day. I took another step forward….Growth.

Other notable people to whom I am grateful, are Sarah W. and Ian B., both whom were instrumental (and I mean that as entirely responsible) for the creation of this blog. Lisa K. with whom I share the hell of having birds and personal property held hostage – but we are also sharing the development of a new store. Former massage clients, co-workers, long-time friends and family for their support. S & C for allowing me to rent a spot on their property for my trailer, and of course J & K for allowing me to use their barn and field for my horses.

This year has been incredibly difficult for me, but I have learned there are still some very kind, supportive people in the world. Their friendship and generosity has helped me maintain some ability to continue to put one foot in front of the other, and to move forward.

Though it still feels like it almost every day, I am not alone.

Gratitude.
